Information and Assistance
The Arc provides referral to community services as well as information and help on disability issues, best practices, community services, rights and laws to people with disabilities, family members, professionals and the general community.
Advocacy and Support
The Arc provides one to one assistance to people with disabilities, their families, and volunteer advocates in accessing community programs, problem solving, and getting needed services.
Phone Support : People with disabilities and their families can receive on- going support and help in problem solving.
Citizen Advocacy : Volunteers are matched in a one to one relationship to people with disabilities.
Count Us In : The Arc will help children with disabilities access community recreation and after school programs.
Parent Support and Educational Advocacy
The Arc helps parents take an active role in working with schools to improve their child’s achievement. We listen to concerns and help parents problem solve. We attend IEP and other school meetings to represent the child’s best interest.
Workshops and Training Programs
The Arc provides training on a variety of topics for people with disabilities, parents, professionals and community members to improve knowledge, understanding and skills.
Lending Library and Internet Access
We have materials and books that are available for loan. People with disabilities and their families can also use our internet access to look up information on disabilities.
Public Awareness
The Arc promotes public awareness about disabilities and best practices through a variety of ways including events, speaking to community groups, news releases, newsletters and other written materials.
System Change
The Arc works to improve services by collaborating with community leaders, professionals, organizations, people with disabilities and their families.
