People First - Racine County Chapter
People First is a self-advocacy organization comprised of people with disabilities and their supporters. It provides opportunities for participants in Racine to speak up and be heard regarding issues such as healthcare, voting, employment, housing, and transportation issues. Participants receive information and documentation and organize alert calls, emails, and newsletters. We work on skills to be able to be a self-advocate, provide opportunities to attend training, and advocate for change.
Making a Difference: People First - Racine members met with Racine Mayor Cory Mason to discuss two big issues in the city of Racine: transportation (city bus) and Foxconn.
